About Northport, New York
Northport is a village in the Town of Huntington in Suffolk County, on the North Shore of Long Island, New York, United States. After Dutch interest a few years earlier, the land was sold by Chief Asharoken, head of the Matinecocks, to three Englishmen in 1656. Northport's annual Cow Harbor Day festival celebrates the history of the village, previously known as Great Cow Harbor. It is held annually on the Sunday of the third full weekend in September, and since 1977 following the Great Cow Harbor 10K held the day before. (Wikipedia)

Does the school pay you to attend?
Western Suffolk BOCES funds essentially no grants of its own — almost all aid here comes from federal (Pell), state, or outside sources rather than the school's own discount. Its sticker price is what it is.

Is it worth it?
A rough return-on-investment read from what graduates earn versus what they borrow.
- Median earnings (10 years)
- $49,667
- Typical debt at graduation
- $11,339
- Debt vs. one year's pay
- 23%
- Out-earn a HS grad
- 67%
Typical debt would take roughly 2.3 years to repay at about a tenth of median earnings.
Graduates here tend to earn well relative to what they borrow — typical debt pays back fast, and most out-earn a high-school graduate.
Earnings are the College Scorecard median for former students (working, not enrolled) 10 years after entry — not a guarantee, and they vary a lot by major. Debt is the median federal loan balance at graduation.
The pay gap here
Median earnings 10 years after entry, split by gender.
Men out-earn women by $22,888 (52%) a decade out.
Federal figures for former students working and not enrolled, 10 years after they first entered. A gap this wide usually reflects which majors men and women here tend to choose — not different pay for the same job.
