Rio Rancho is the largest and most populous city in Sandoval County, New Mexico, United States. The great majority of the territory of Rio Rancho was originally part of the Town of Alameda Grant, which was founded by Spanish colonial settlers in 1710. Intel is by far the largest employer in Rio Rancho. The services, retail, and government sectors are also major components of the local economy.
