About Mineola, New York
Mineola is a village and the county seat of Nassau County, on Long Island, New York, United States. The central, flat, grassy part of Long Island was originally known as the Hempstead Plains. In the 19th century, various communities were started in this area. One of those communities was called "Hempstead Branch," which would ultimately be known as "Mineola" later on. Mineola is considered a bedroom community of the City of New York. Accordingly, a large number of its residents commute to and from New York each day for work. (Wikipedia)
